The City of Dayton City Clerk-Treasurer Department is responsible for the administration, supervision, and coordination of the financial accounting, debt, purchasing, treasury, and information service activities of the City. The Department’s operations are guided by Federal, State, and City laws. The Department also works with the State Auditor’s Office on compliance and control issues.

The City Clerk-Treasurer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial services such as budget, annual report, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, bond administration, insurance, grant administration, contract management, banking, and investments, as well as other miscellaneous accounting functions. The City Clerk-Treasurer works closely with the Mayor and other department supervisors with questions or concerns relating to the budget and administration.

The Deputy City Clerk/Billing Clerk assists the City Clerk-Treasurer with the day to day operations relating to payroll, warrant processing, fee collections, banking, utility billing, and dog license processing, as well as other miscellaneous support functions.
