Planning Commission

The DPC meets monthly, on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm at City Hall.

The objective of the DPC is to provide guidance and direction for Dayton's future growth through continued review, improvement and implementation of the city's comprehensive land use plan and related land use documents (DMC 1-13).

The DPC also makes formal recommendations on all Type V projects, which includes Comprehensive Plan amendments, development regulation amendments, zoning text amendments, area-wide zoning map amendments, docketed zone reclassification's, annexations, and development agreements.

Additionally, the DPC is responsible for overseeing any Type III closed record appeal, which includes conditional use permits, variances to the zoning and/or sign code, plat vacations and alterations, shoreline variances and conditional use permits, essential public facilities not already permitted, critical area variances, reasonable use exceptions and public agency exceptions.
